What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?

Traveling to the UK at 65 years old from Nigeria comes with some considerations. Entry Requirements are crucial, and it’s essential to note that Nigerians need a visa to enter the UK .

I have been denied spousal visa once and visiting visa also ones. I’m really tired of the process. After spending millions of Nigerian naira for non refundable applications, Major hindrance is not having £62,500 as savings in my bank account. Neither does my wife who is a British citizen. We met in Nigeria and got married in 2nd November 1991. We are blessed with 2children. A boy soon to be 17yrs and a woman now 32yrs old. Both are living in the UK. I now have 2granddaugthers.

Health and Safety Concerns are also vital. However, it’s always important to prioritize health and safety when traveling abroad.

Travel Documents are another key aspect. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in the UK ¹. You may also need to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination, depending on your travel history ¹.

Why its a risk is the uncertainty of survival and the health factor at an old age. I’m relatively comfortable now in Nigeria. I’m living in my own house and receiving pension for my survival. I retired as an auditor from a federal government establishment. I might have to dispose all my belongings and yet will not be able to raise the money required to move to UK.

What a dilemma. Who can save me?

I was chased out of UK in 2020 immediately the covid pandemic subsided. My visiting visa expired while in the UK. Since then I have been in Nigeria living alone in my retirement house. Lord have mercy.
