Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?
Here are some countries I have visited:
United States: A popular destination for Nigerians, known for its diverse culture, educational opportunities, and iconic attractions like Disney World and New York City. It was one country I so much wanted to visit but after the visit I felt disillusioned and had a bad taste because of insecurity of lives. I remember I spent four months at the GAO – Government Accountability Office in Washington DC and I picked an apartment just very close to the office. Barrack Obama was the president in 2014. He was so pieced with the killings of people in schools and on the streets that he said something like is it only in US that people demonstrate their madness, for everyone to see. something like that.
While in the USA, I went from Washington DC to Tampa in Florida and New York. In 2013 I visited Atlanta as well in an official capacity.
I also visited the White House and Congress building and the library and places of cultural heritage.
United Kingdom: Attracts Nigerians with its rich history, cultural heritage, and top-notch educational institutions, especially London. My family lives in Maidstone, Kent while my daughter lives in Banbury, near London in the UK.
Canada: A desirable destination for Nigerians seeking new opportunities and a high quality of life, thanks to its welcoming immigration policies and stunning natural beauty. I was in Toronto in an official capacity in 2013.
United Arab Emirates (UAE): Dubai and Abu Dhabi are favorites among Nigerians for luxury shopping, entertainment, and job opportunities. I have been to Dubai en route to Malaysia and Singapore in an official capacity.
South Africa: A top choice for wildlife safaris, beautiful landscapes, and a diverse cultural experience. I have been to Johannesburg and Durban many times when I was Head of Department Training Division of the office of the Auditor General for the Federation. It’s a beautiful country.
Germany: Popular for work, education, and tourism, with a strong economy and rich cultural heritage. I visited Germany many times especially in winter season during the time I was studying in the defunct USSR. ( Union of Soviet Socialist Republic)
Singapore: A hub for business, culture, and entertainment, with a diverse and vibrant community.
Spain: Attracts Nigerians with its rich history, beautiful and vibrant culture. While in Spain I visited the stadium of the popular football ⚽ club.
These countries offer a mix of cultural experiences, educational opportunities, and economic prospects that appeal to Nigerian travelers.
Countries with revolving restaurants that i’ve visited include:
Switzerland: Zurich’s Prime Tower has a revolving restaurant.
Japan: Tokyo’s Park Hyatt and Osaka’s Umeda Sky Building have stunning views.
Switzerland’s got some breathtaking Alpine scenery, and Japan’s got a unique blend of tradition and modernity. The revolving restaurants in these countries were a real treat! I can’t even remember Swiss chocolate or Japanese cuisine while I was there but I really enjoyed the feeling and the company I had. Too much to take in then. 😊 Ahh, The experience is always more important than the details, right? 👍
