What’s the funniest misunderstanding you’ve ever been part of?
I answered no to a question I should have answered yes, and was penalized for lying even though I misunderstood the question.
Being penalized for a misunderstanding instead of an actual lie feels so unfair. Like my intent was “I didn’t get it” but it got read as “I was trying to trick you.”
I hate that moment where you realize 2 seconds too late: “wait no I meant yes” and it’s already recorded. The worst part is trying to explain it after and sounding like you’re just making excuses.
It was for my visiting visa after being denied spouse visa. Up till that denial I was never denied a visiting visa since 1977-2015. My last visa expired in 2019. For me spouse visa is different from visiting visa, but to them I was denied entry. The question was if I’ve ever been denied entry.
I never appealed. Isn’t that funny 🤣
