What Is Success in Life?
1. The Basic Definition
Success is the achievement and accomplishment of set goals.However, because of variable factors beyond our control, success has become controversial. It is often judged not only by results, but also by the emotional status of the achiever.
2. The Need for Criteria
To judge success fairly, we need clear criteria:-
Clarity of Goal: Was the goal specific and measurable?-
Honesty of Effort: Did the person give their best with what they had?-
Control of Factors: Was failure caused by personal choice or by factors outside their control, such as health, economy, or circumstance?-
Personal Growth: Did the person learn and grow, even if the goal was not fully achieved?A person who tried sincerely but was hindered by uncontrollable factors should not be called a failure.
3. The Limitations of Money
Money is a useful tool, but its power is limited:- Money can buy a bed, but not sleep.- Money can buy food, but not the strength to eat when sick.- Money can buy a mansion, but a person only sleeps on one bed.- Money can buy good things, but not the health to enjoy them.Money answers many things, but it does not answer everything.
4. The Wisdom of Life First As Dr. Richard Okoye says: “You don’t need things to enjoy life, you need life to enjoy things.” We often chase things to enjoy life, but we forget that life itself is the foundation. Without life and health, all possessions lose their meaning.
5. The Ultimate Measure of Success
Whatever you do, as long as your activity gives life to others, you are successful.Success is not measured only by what you acquire, but by the life you give through your work, your kindness, and your impact on others.
